When a family of four moved into a historic, gracious colonial in a tight-knit neighborhood, they knew it needed a few tweaks to make it their ideal home. SBW Design was tasked with creating a fresh upgrade to the kitchen, connecting the family room to the kitchen, and maximizing the connection to the patio and backyard. Removal of a sleeping porch on the back as well as a dated bay window in the kitchen, the upgrade gave way to a spacious and modernized room. Through trim work and detail, traditional moldings with minimal cabinetry design creates a modern kitchen while remaining sensitive to the historic nature of the house.
